BIOGRAPHY

Born 1956 in Königswinter am Rhein, Germany.
First stage experience gained in the annual pantomime, playing Rumpelstiltskin, Gretel and a May bug. Despite a fairytale-like childhood in the Seven Mountains, it was the fictional Native American hero Winnetou who served as a role model rather than Snow White.
After taking the school-leaving exams (1976) and then dropping out of university, she travelled for three years, lived in Austin/Texas, New York 1977/78 and on Bali 1980/81.
Training in modern dance, mask dance, kung fu and mask carving. Work as a waitress, nurse, geriatric nurse, cleaner, secretary and messenger.
1979 she met Eugenio Barba of the Odin Theatre and his “International School of Theatre Anthropology” (ISTA).
1981 Founding member of the “Theater Tilbut” independent theatre group in Frankfurt.
Education and training in cooperation with:
Eugenio Barba – Odin Teatret at the International School for Theatre Anthropology, Ingemar Lindh – Institute for Scenekonst, I Made Pasek Tempo, I Made Djimat, Günther Einbrodt (formerly Tabori Group), Augusto Fernandez, Werner Schroeter and others.
1984 Jakob is born.
1988 Lotta is born.
Since 1987, mainly worked as a soloist in “Theater Unikate”, her own theatre company, giving both national and international guest performances. Almost all productions are performed in German and English.

Guest performances in English of “Kommandeuse“ and “Morrison Hotel“ in Denmark, Netherlands, France, Poland, Hungary and New Zealand.

1999 Participation in the KOHELET production of the Akko Group from Israel, Kulturstadt in Weimar/Vienna Festival.

1999 VATER HAT LAGER by Carl Friedman, director: Michael Heicks, Thalia in der Kunsthalle Hamburg.

2000 M.E.D.E.A. by Gilla Cremer, TRILOGIE DES VERSPRECHENS Teil III, director: Eva-Maria Martin, Kammerspiele Hamburg, supported by Kulturbehörde der Freien Hansestadt Hamburg.

2001/2002 Guest at Thalia Theater Hamburg.

2003 MEERESRAND by Véronique Olmi, director: Michael Heicks, in cooperation with Theater Bielefeld and Thalia in der Gaußstraße Hamburg, supported by Kulturbehörde der Freien Hansestadt Hamburg. World premier at Theater Bielefeld, Hamburg premiere at Thalia in der Gaußstrasse. The stage production is available as an audio book (publishers: Hoffmann & Campe).

2004 SO ODER SO – HILDEGARD KNEF by Gilla Cremer, director: Hartmut Uhlemann, coproduction with St. Pauli Theater Hamburg. 2005-2009 the play was performed at Thalia Theater Hamburg. Also available as an audio book (publishers: Hoffmann & Campe).

2006 Guest appearance at Schauspiel Hannover with the play “Mobil”.

2007 WARUM DAS KIND IN DER POLENTA KOCHT by Aglaja Veteranyi, director: Nik Günther, Hamburger Sprechwerk, supported by Kulturbehörde der Freien Hansestadt Hamburg.

2007 FESTIVAL “20 YEARS THEATER UNIKATE” Show of 9 productions

2008 MOBBING by Anette Pehnt, director: Michael Heicks, coproduction with Theater Bielefeld and Hamburger Kammerspiele, supported by Kulturbehörde der Freien Hansestadt Hamburg.
